State Tournament Recap:

Game 1: Northwest 8 - Nashua West 7 (8 innings)

The Nashua Northwest 10 year old All-Star team remained  unbeaten in tournament games by winning a close game over cross town rival Nashua West in the Cal Ripken State Tournament. The pitching staff of Ricky Constant, Brian Provencher and Spencer Bergeron struck out 9 and allowed 8 hits, of which 5 came in the bottom of the 5th where West scored 6 runs to take a 7-4 lead. In the top of the 6th Northwest put up 3 runs of their own. Scoring were Greg Stanton, and Jeremiah Latham. Cameron Bennett hit a single to score Evan Conners for the 3rd run of the inning to tie the game at 7 each. In the 8th inning the bats came back to life for the Northwest offense with singles by Ricky C, Spencer B, and Nick Bourbeau to score the eventual winning run. The defense held off West in the late innings with great catches in the outfield by Andrew Dahl, and Mike Rogers. Trevor Lessard was an integral part of the win as well. 

Game # 2   Northwest 6 - Keene 2

Northwest moves into the semi finals of the 10U State Tournament Thursday night by beating Keene 6-2. The Nashua team once again never relinquished the lead which helped the players relax and have fun during the game. Defensively Cameron Bennett did a superb job behind the plate. Spencer Bergeron, Brian Provencher, and Ricky Constant all had a hand in a perfectly executed double play. Northwest didn't allow a runner past first base until the bottom of the 4th inning in which Keene left the bases loaded and was still held with no runs. Jeremiah Latham Led the offensive attack going 3-4 while scoring 2 runs, Evan Conners was 2-4, scoring 1 run. Nick Bourbeau, Greg Stanton, Trevor Lessard, Andrew Dahl, Mike Rogers all contributed by all recording singles of their own.
